Yeah and recently got an argument with someone saying that the SD was no competitor for the switch.
In my opinion both are directly trying to fill a market where you can play games anywhere.

I haven’t even picked the LCD 256GB SD…just didn’t pick the option with max storage.
But anyway. This meme is very specific and it is just targeting a minority who would be choosing between a high end console to play at the sofa on the big screen and a handheld to play anywhere.
I think the main SD target is people who want a handheld, and that group of people generally choose between SD or Nintendo Switch and for many (including me) SD is the preference.

I’m not sure if it’s the meme but here (Europe) there is a huge difference in price between the basic 512GB OLED SD and the basic PS5 pro option.

They should do it like on consoles, reduce the graphics to guarantee stable FPS.
Although, on PS5 they apply a lot of variable rate shading mixed with upscaling. VSR is something I don’t really like but it the drop is minimal it’s ok.
- Comment on Valve: don’t expect a faster Steam Deck ‘in the next couple of years’ 1 year ago:
The origin for me are the guys who generally demand that the SD should have higher resolution than 720p (approximately).
I personally think the display PPI is good enough in the original Steam Deck. So I wouldn’t raise the resolution a lot. Especially when some games struggle to keep 30 FPS.
Of course, the eye to display distance matters a lot for this and that’s a bit more subjective.

Many people are still playing with a PS4. And generally consoles last several years.
If we can move the optimisations more to the PC world that would be also nice to keep devices running in the longer term.
What I don’t see possible is a future steam deck running a native resolution like above 720p requiring much more GPU PWR.
Maybe they’ll add 1080p or higher resolution monitors and start using more the upscaling.
- Comment on [Discussion] How has the Steam Deck changed your habits with playing video games? 1 year ago:
I’ve been playing on planes, airports, beach, outdoor.
But not much at home. There I still use the PC.

It never suspennd to disk for me. Only suspend to ram.

I asked this question long ago. And started turning off the deck every time to stop the battery drain.
But basically the issue is the storage space.
