It looked good, but the gyro is apparently awful and the trigger travel is basically non-existent.

With the recent crowdstrike nonsense and Microsoft reviewing their kernel access policies, it may be a non-issue in the future, but we just have to see what happens. I do wish valve would start really pushing these companies with kernel anticheat solutions to support proton and steam deck. It’s like they pushed for the first 6 months of the steam deck’s life and then gave up. They are really on the cusp of something truly disruptive in the pc gaming space with the steam deck, getting those last few games like cod, fortnite and valorant would really push that momentum away from Windows. Maybe they simply don’t want to pick a fight with the 1000lbs gorilla that is Microsoft, only gaben knows.
- Comment on Black Myth: Wukong shows very clearly Valve are selling a lot of Steam Decks 3 months ago:
Yep, every competing product, whether it’s the rog ally or legion go had to compromise on something and it’s usually battery life, which defeats the purpose of having a handheld. I can get close to 4 hours in some games, you can’t say the same for the competition putting 1080p VRR panels with high nit values and more powerful GPUs when the SoC itself hasn’t reduced in power consumption. I just don’t see any compelling reason why valve would make an incremental product like a steam deck pro.

I use an Anker USB hub with power delivery and it’s completely hot swappable, I would be incredibly surprised if the official dock wasn’t.

If they upgraded to Wayland they would have to rework their streaming protocol to function with Wayland and probably several other things need to be reworked. I use plasma 6 with Wayland on my endeavor install, but I still can’t use discord streaming or steam in home streaming without problems. The x11 to Wayland video bridge by the kde devs isn’t even updated to work properly.
- Comment on Valve has little to worry about as new Steam Deck rival arrives 6 months ago:
Hopefully just shows how dialed in the steam deck is, it’s why I won’t ever buy one of their competitors.
- Comment on System Shock remake 1.2 update massively improves performance on the deck, and comes with better controller support 8 months ago:
Both versions were tested on Steam Deck OLED models with no CryoUtilities and a UMA Buffer set to 1G (default).
No, just no, I hate testing like this, it’s not a stock deck with the 1G uma buffer, it’s just not, and the OLED deck is already known to be more power efficient and has a small fps improvement due to that power efficiency. They should be testing with the middle ground LCD deck with no buffer modifications and then test with modifications to see the difference.
- Comment on Remote Play broken on Steam Deck with the February stable update 9 months ago:
As a long time steam link user, I’m not surprised. Even the little steam link box was a hit or miss with each update, especially with AMD hardware.

Pretty sure fsr 2.1 is in the game now as of the last big update.

Mario RPG, half life 2, and Halo 1, those are easily my top 3 games.
- Comment on Star Citizen Just Had its Biggest Crowdfunding Day Ever With $3.5 Million in 24 Hours 1 year ago:
I literally can’t play this game, my PC has 16GB of RAM and it runs out of free memory after like 10 minutes and crashes to desktop. When your “fix” is to just buy more RAM or increase your page file size, then your game is a fucking scam. I understand new games require more powerful hardware, but this is Amazon lumberyard ffs.
- Comment on Nearly Half of CD Projekt Now Working on The Witcher 4 1 year ago:
You realize cyberpunk wasn’t the only game they’ve made that needed fixed after release right? Both W1 and 2 had enhanced edition patches to fix the broken shit in both games. W1 was a 7/10 game on release by multiple outlets. W3 was the first game they actually took their time with and delayed multiple times to avoid the enhanced edition patches. Anyone who thought cyberpunk was going to be flawless on release was breathing in that hopium.
- Comment on Small games can be good for AAA studios, and "directly contributed" to big RPGs like Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2, says Obsidian's Josh Sawyer 1 year ago:
Obsidian really got the last laugh considering what Bethesda did to them with New Vegas. Now the roles have essentially been reversed. I’m really looking forward to Avowed.
- Comment on Waydroid on Bazzite 1 year ago:
Why immutable? I’ve seen this sentiment before but I’m not really sure what the benefits truly are other than easily upgrading the OS and distro agnostic applications, but even that’s kind of not really a benefit IMO.

Thanks for the heads up, I typically use protonGE and proton experimental, I did see some of those reports.

Picked up a couple boomer shooters today, cultic and forgive me father. Hopefully going to play these on my deck tonight.

Oh cool, is there anyway mount a secondary drive? Whenever I try to mount a secondary drive, steam doesn’t seem to see it when using the steam arch install.

This is really good information, but I just can’t get behind it I’m sorry. Things started to go downhill once dlss and fsr really started to take off and it’s shown in damn near every major PC port. Remnant 2 is another culprit, the game ran like trash, even when I was running it through an rtx 4080 on GeForce now. I couldn’t get it to go above 45fps even in 1440p on high settings without dlss in ward 13. This is becoming more commonplace with every release, baldurs gate 3 seems to be the only exception.
- Comment on Bazzite 1.1.0 is out - Now with offline ISOs 1 year ago:
I tried installing this but both signing the install and the arch sandbox as well as several other setup steps in the bazzite setup would fail looking for a justfile.
- Comment on What’s next for the Steam Deck? 1 year ago:
If fsr and dlss are any indication, new technology has the capability of improving that performance for lower end hardware. The problem we’re seeing now is that games are using dlss and fsr to “optimize” games instead of optimizing the game first then adding those technologies afterwards. I’m not saying every dev is doing this, but there are clear standouts where fsr and dlss are being used to pick up the slack for optimization, Starfield being the latest culprit.

You’re full of shit. Post the logs or GTFO. You probably haven’t enabled the next Gen driver for Xbox controllers or even basic Xbox controller support or even generic controller support. Your tv probably has a setting that controls the HDMI port signal and it’s unable to detect the connection because the dock isn’t providing enough of a signal for your TV to detect, turn that shit off because it’s trash. Your video doesn’t show shit, just you being a dumbass. How is anyone supposed to help you when all you post is you holding up your controller and literally nothing else? Also, your steam streaming of baldurs gate is that small because you’re too stupid to change the output on the streaming device to match the resolution of the TV. Stop blaming valve for your blind bullshit ignorance.
