- Comment on Microsoft pushes full-screen ads for Copilot+ PCs on Windows 10 users 1 hour ago:
That didn’t stop them from making their God awful searchIndexer default to scanning all the disks way too regularly back then, including C:, even if it was the slowest laptop HDD on earth

Yes please, kill d&d so the creative people currently working on it move to others IPs you don’t control 🙏
- Comment on Valve has little to worry about as new Steam Deck rival arrives 5 months ago:
It’s almost as if Valve thought this through when they engineered the steam deck

Arizona is goddamn right.
- Comment on Microsoft Copilot has been banned for use by US House staff members, at least for now 7 months ago:
I very rarely grab code online because I work in videogames and it’s very hard to find good code for the things I struggle with since all the publicly available stuff is for hobbyists and thus usually very basic/unoptimized as hell
- Comment on Microsoft Copilot has been banned for use by US House staff members, at least for now 7 months ago:
I think you’re missing the point. I don’t like copilot/chat gpt for important stuff because if I have to double check their solutions I barely gained any time. Especially since it’s correct more often than not because it will make me complacent over enough time (the professors who were patient enough to actually explain why we shouldn’t be using Wikipedia as a primary source also used the same point which I thought made a lot of sense).
- Comment on I used to be a frame rate snob but owning a Steam Deck has made me realise the error of my ways 7 months ago:
Some people easily get motion sickness and it can be aggravated by many factors, including low and/or irregular framerates.
I’d be interested to know if people complaining about motion sickness at low fps have that issue with all games, or only FPS/TPS. And if they have the same issue with “first person” segments in movies (which are pretty damn rare in the first place, and basically always at a very consistent but low framerate)
- Comment on Nearly 30 Percent Of The Top 100 Steam Deck Games Aren’t Verified 8 months ago:
There are some games that run perfectly on the deck that aren’t fully verified simply because you have to enter text at some point and it does not automatically summon the steam deck keyboard
- Comment on Helldivers 2 devs apologise for trolly responses to player complaints about gun balancing 8 months ago:
This is also why developers hide behind PRs instead of communicating directly btw.
Source : am game developer for games that didn’t have nearly as much success as HD2 and it was still problematic

Working for Microsoft doesn’t seem to be all sunshine and rainbows either, according to some firsthand accounts I’ve heard.

What does being employed have to do with anything here ?
Leecheslandlords can be alcoholics/stoners, high functioning alcoholics are a thing, and I know a shit ton of people who can do their job perfectly fine while stoned - Comment on Air: Where did that bring you? Back to me. 11 months ago:
Air cooling is a lot less complex than water cooling, so there are fewer points of failure. If both can do the job, I’ll pick reliability over efficiency every time.
