- Comment on Goat Simulator Remastered just looks like how I remember Goat Simulator looking 1 month ago:
while the trailer below is proof positive that the remaster does indeed look newer and shinier, in the moment I couldn’t shake the idea from my memory banks that this was just how Goat Sim always looked.
Imo they have nailed it, then. Metroid Prime Remastered also looks as good as I remember that game looking, but when you put them next to each other it’s quite a big difference.
- Comment on Alien: Isolation Sequel Has Been Officially Confirmed 1 month ago:
I would never be able to play a game like this but watching people play it has been a blast. Hope it does the first one justice
- Comment on Bazzite Linux gets keyboard-less installation (good for handhelds) and smaller updates 2 months ago:
I don’t think so, the only thing cheaper than the Steam Deck is a Nintendo Switch, but that’s a whole different machine and also probably doesn’t support it

What the fuck is this headline and the article. Time to block this bot too lol
- Comment on Microsoft strips ads from Skype in a move toward “user-centric design” 3 months ago:
Can someone explain how Skype is being kept alive while Teams does the same thing? Phone number routing, calling into meetings by phone, video conferencing, etc
It just seems silly not to merge the two into one bloated piece of shit that triggers people to find alternatives
- Comment on I’d love to explore more of Fallout London’s brilliant world, but it keeps crashing every few minutes 3 months ago:
Update: Ignore the bit where I imply that you can’t access the vanilla settings once the mod is installed. I was just being a (wildly charismatic, dashing) idiot.
It always irks me when people can’t live up to an (honest) mistake without tooting their own horn.
Do others find it funny or endearing? I’m genuinely curious, as just owning up to it without the bravado would make more sense to me.
- Comment on Palworld devs heard “nothing at all” from Pokémon creators despite everyone calling it 'Pokémon with guns' 4 months ago:
Which is what everyone with some sense predicted, except Xitter exploded into drama from faking proof that it was directly copying Pokémon to claiming wild things like using gen AI to create the models.
These things are easily verified (or rather, debunked), but it was already too late. I lost a lot of faith in some gaming journalists as they kept perpetuating the wild takes and claims.
We’ll do this all again soon with another game and we will not learn from it.
- Comment on You can turn on Scottish slang in the subtitles, reminds Still Wakes The Deep developer 5 months ago:
Slang words that are being subtitled wrong because the locale automatically sets to English (international) instead of English (UK) for a lot of players.
It’s in the article if you bothered to read it
- Comment on All three game console makers have now abandoned X integration 5 months ago:
I’m glad they finally added directly beaming them to your smartphone.
Well, directly is a stretch. But at least the direct WiFi method means I didn’t have to use a throwaway twitter account anymore to transfer my screenshots and video captures without removing the SD card.
- Comment on EA is diverting 100 percent of Immortals of Aveum net sales revenue to Ascendant Studios 6 months ago:
Who’s going to buy this when it’s on subscription services like XGP and EA Play?
- Comment on The AC game set in feudal Japan is called Assassins Creed Shadows, may have leaked its own release date 6 months ago:
The game might be revolutionary and I will still pass. Somewhere between ruining franchises and turning them into open world Ubisoup games, publishing “AAAA” games, sexual harassment by executives, and more, I have lost all interest.
- Comment on Fallout 4's "next gen" update is out today and might break your mods - here's how to stop it 6 months ago:
The perfect timing would have been at the show’s release, but we both know it would have been an even bigger broken mess than whatever this turns into.

It’s weird how just a 5% decrease of weight is so impactful
- Comment on Dwarf Fortress hits 800,000 sales and no sign of it stopping 7 months ago:
Does Steam on Linux offer the same controller settings? You can basically map gamepad buttons to any action of the keyboard / mouse and save it as a layout that will be activated each time you launch the game.
- Comment on Discord is adding adverts "in the coming week" 7 months ago:
It’s not true adverts like we are used to. This is the blog post from last month:
Quests are a way for players to discover games and earn rewards for playing them on Discord. We started experimenting with them over the last year, and millions of you opted in and completed them. We’ve heard great feedback from developers who partnered with us to create them and from many of you who completed one. If you didn’t see firsthand, the “May the 4th” Fortnite Quest is a great example. Now, we’re opening up sponsored Quests to more game developers.
Quests will show up tastefully in Discord where you can opt-in to stream your game to friends and win rewards for playing. Some players will be made aware that a Quest is available, while others will discover it as their friends accept and embark on the Quest. Developers and publishers who sponsor Quests will work with our team to build an experience that showcases their game and offers a reward tailored for their game.
“tastefully”, lol. That’s for the users to decide.
- Comment on Good gaming experiences with no HUD? 11 months ago:
Both Zelda BotW and TotK have the option for a “PRO” HUD mode which only shows certain elements of the HUD at the right time.
It makes exploration so much more fun when you’re not (if not subconsciously) navigating with the minimap instead of the environment in front of your eyes.
+1 for Battlefield 1. That game nailed the cinematic experience and without a HUD it’s turned up to 11.
Have you played heists in GTA5 in first person without a HUD? It becomes a completely different game!
