I think ARC Raiders is peak.
People were already getting over extraction shooters, but AR sort of came out of no where just in time and pulled it off well.
I don’t see that happening again with this genre. Even AR is in a slow and steady decline after the initial hype.

I use it, but have established a realistic mindset that it’s alwqys confidentially incorrect and in many cases I’m better off walking away and just doing the thing myself.
In saying that, I’ve also established a mindset that people who actively rely on genAI must be low on intelligence. Not only lacking in knowledge or pursuing knowledge of whatever they’re using it for, but genuinely of a mental calibre that is unable to discern or realise its low performance.

Yeah. But if they did, they’d best surprise us with a 7 day countdown appearing or something, so everyone has time to replay Episode 2 to remember wtf was going on.
It wouldn’t really be something you could enjoy by watching a recap video. And everyone under the age of like 25 wouldn’t know wtf is going on anyway, without a very well put together HL1/Opposing Force/Blueshift/Decay mashup into HL2 and episodes recap. “Ooooooh, so that’s what Half-Life is and where we’re at.”
A new title would be most likely, for new generations to start with.
Then they too can get hooked and wait two decades for more.

AC Evo is tracking at exactly the pace they had planned, but I share the concern. I’d rather Evo continue unhindered. Was expecting they’d meet the goals above the bare minimum. The driving, at least, seems to be exceptionally ahead. But ya, all the other features, might be bare minimum ticked which is always disappointing.
Have to lsonremember the demand for rlly over track sim at the moment too. Seems it’d be better to make rally off the sicc ss of a polished Evo rather than try tackle two at once.

It’s just Markov chains running on a heap of poorly governed sources. Expensive because Markov chains are brutish to process.
But processors get faster and faster to calculate and conclude a chain rapidly. I could see why people think it’s intelligence since it is chains running through sources of human intelligence, but it’s not. It’s simple math from the late-1800s and we’ve been using it for predicting many things for a long time. Funnily enough, language was what Markov started with.

It’s been like that since the files got X on the end; docx, xlsx, pbix. They are just zip files containing XML and stuff. This is how you can turn off any password protection of a file, change to zip, disable protection in the XML, change the extension back.

Also most gamers either buy a PC or build and install Windows in 15 mins, install Steam, and that’s requirements met for all gaming. The most frustrating part being the minute or two to setup a Windows profile, or optionally installing a software (once) to ensure latest drivers.
Everything after that short setup is, “I want to play that.” click…wait for download… Done. Play now.
