Also sometimes it’s unavoidable without workarounds. It shouldn’t be crazy to expect to buy a product that works and works well without it spying on you. Why should companies get the right to continue to collect data and generate more profit off of an item the consumer owns. Why should consumers have to give up their right to privacy so that a company can make obscene profits off of their information?

This work-around worked for me if anyone else needs it. It’s a bit cumbersome but beats buying a new device. Hopefully Google pushes out a fix.

I may have to switch to something else if they’ve intentionally bricked the chromecast. It definitely won’t be a Google product though if this turns out to be intentional. If anyone has any recommendations, I’m all ears.
