- Comment on JSAUX released their first White 6-in-1 Docking Station for handhelds like Steam Deck 3 weeks ago:
Wonder if this has CEC support, that’s a pretty important feature they’ve finally added to the Steam Dock
- Comment on Sony is reportedly working on a PS5 portable 3 weeks ago:
Ehhh…
It was very limited by the decisions Sony made.
Proprietary memory cards (that were fuuuucking expensive, not to mention its high MSRP for the unit itself), having to manually sign into PSN to check messages instead of some sort of push notification system, very limited library (and no cross over purchases from the PSP) - it was essentially a glorified remote play console, and was abandoned soon after launch as Sony focused on the PS4.
- Comment on Hori’s officially licensed Steam controller is coming to the US 1 month ago:
A shame it doesn’t have hall effect thumbsticks (and vibration), but more quality controllers I will not shake a stick at.

Pretending to be Chrome on Windows seems easy enough
- Comment on Valve Working With Rockstar to Fix GTA Online on Steam Deck 2 months ago:
Valbe should automatically stop sales of any game that dips from verified to unplayable over these shenanigans.
- Comment on There's a reason we aren't as harsh on the Steam Deck. Actually, a couple. 2 months ago:
Why $100?
It works with any USB-C hub - I spent $15 on a hub and $5 on an HDMI cable.
- Comment on There's a reason we aren't as harsh on the Steam Deck. Actually, a couple. 2 months ago:
Cheapest OLED steam deck is $549.00 (USD) while the most expensive is $649.00 (USD).
So really either way not only all those positives, but it’s also at least $50 cheaper (which you can use to buy several games on Steam…)
- Comment on Steam Families is here 3 months ago:
Very nice - glad to not need the beta since it messed with some Steam Deck stuff like Gungeon video settings and the default dock volume…
- Comment on X caught blocking links to NPR, claiming the news site may be 'unsafe' 3 months ago:
Previously he also had NPR marked as “State media” which is fucking nazi bullshit.

- Comment on Valve upgrades Steam Families and Game Recording in the latest Steam Beta 4 months ago:
Hope the Families beta is released to stable soon - the beta has some weird volume and display issues with some games (Gungeon is a good example).

This is despite how much revenue is generated from their cosmetics?
Amazing the level of risk businessmen can take and force developers to chew when it comes crashing in…
- Comment on Dragon Age: The Veilguard Is Verified For Steam Deck 4 months ago:
Nice to see AAA developers targeting it, though considering what’s continued to happen to Dragon Age since after Origins… not sure I’m excited for it.
- Comment on Will anything dethrone the Steam Deck? Probably not -GamingonLinux 5 months ago:
When lots game developers start releasing ARM or RISC-V versions
That is more than a little funny, given Valve’s release of Proton, and their stance on Native Linux builds (they recommended against it - just use proton)
- Comment on Will anything dethrone the Steam Deck? Probably not -GamingonLinux 5 months ago:
Considering the trend seems to be a move towards ARM (see Mac M1, Windows on ARM + Window’s ARM translation layer) - I wouldnt be surprised if they do exactly that, eventually.
There’s already some work that might lead to it. As ARM gains prevalence, I think it’ll happen sooner rather than later - once all of those dependencies do all the hard work. The efficiency of ARM for mobile devices like the Steam Deck really just scream for it
- Comment on Will anything dethrone the Steam Deck? Probably not -GamingonLinux 5 months ago:
Nothing stopping them from using an ARM processor for the Deck 2
- Comment on Steam deck for a TV party game emulation machine? 5 months ago:
If the game is available on the Wii U (cough Breath cough) you’ll be better off using that version, but Switch has come a long way.
I don’t think PS3 is very viable though, given it’s power and strange architecture.
- Comment on Game Recording Beta - Now available for Steam Deck and desktop 5 months ago:
Should hopefully be easier than dealing with transferring it off the Switch…

Curious

Added support for some HDMI CEC features: * TV remote input * TV wake up * TV input switching
I’d be very curious if those features end up in cheaper 3rd party docks…
