If you die in the Frame, you die in real life.

Don’t care, want proper blacks.

Get a bigscreen beyond then? (And embrace the burn-in?)
WhoIzDisIz@lemmy.today 2 weeks ago
OLED burn-in may not be so much of a concern anymore. Ars has multiple articles on the topic.

And the blurrier motion

Don’t get a Frame? Don’t even consider one for yourself at all? Move on bud, doesn’t sound like its your market, so just move on?
TwodogsFighting@lemdro.id 2 weeks ago
Why is this making you so angry.

I guess its highly likely that the kit can be purchased later down the line? Thats kind of cool (like if I can purchase it once it comes out but get the kit as a birthday present…)

“steamdeckhq.com”??? This is like that “insideEVs” site that does nothing but write about Elon Musk all day even if it’s nothing to do with EVs
Fubarberry@sopuli.xyz 2 weeks ago
Do you really think a website that was created to cover the steam deck, shouldn’t also cover steam machine/controller/frame? It’s already pretty niche, and I think most people interested in the Deck will also be interested in other steam hardware.

Sorry if it wasn’t clear enough, I am talking about having a cult over a multi billion dollar company

The steam deck comm on lemmy does also cover the controller, the machine and the frame

I wonder if this has something to do with the EU mandating most consumer electronics to have replaceable batteries from next year onwards.
ryper@lemmy.ca 2 weeks ago
“Hot-swappable” is above and beyond replaceable. To me hot-swappable sounds like you’ll be able to swap the battery pack without turning off the device, which seems like it would require the device to have another power source to cover the changeover.
WhoIzDisIz@lemmy.today 2 weeks ago
That is indeed the very definition of the term, yes.
Prove_your_argument@piefed.social 2 weeks ago
i’ve had headsets with it. Just takes a very small battery with some seconds of life.
jnod4@lemmy.ca 2 weeks ago
We have hot swappable batteries for our zebra android phones at work
paraphrand@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
Eh, rumors are the battery life will be low in the device. So, this addresses that.
grue@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
Sounds like a worthwhile tradeoff for something you’re strapping to your face and therefore want to be as light as possible.
nialv7@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
the battery part of the steam frame is already swappable, just not hot swappable.
Truscape@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 weeks ago
Considering the Steam Deck has an easily replaceable battery this might just be an increased design complexity for hot swapping = more cost, so they made it “enthusiast” tier to have separate pricing.
It’s a great feature either way though, I’d use it for sure.
