Please confirm your Purchase Information for Steam Machine 2TB
that was the subject line for the “you have 72 hours” email.
Additionally it shows up in your steam cart until you buy it or remove it. I had a game in my cart and went into the cart a day later and they were both in there.

This was mine:
You’re officially in the reservation queue for Steam Machine 2TB
I assume if you do not put the 2TB, you’ll hit any of the variations you have selected… unless they change it.
- Comment on Microsoft warns Authenticator now blocks rooted Android and jailbroken iOS, verify if you're affected 1 week ago:
This change is really more about enterprise use cases. If you take DLP seriously you need to make sure the integrity of the controls on work provided devices are intact.
Nothing stops someone taking a photo of another screen. It’s not a panacea. It’s just one more hurdle.
- Comment on [Discussion] What are you playing on your Deck or Machine? - July 2026 1 week ago:
So much better than I expected. Reviews back around release made it sound so rough.
Summoning does seem to make the game very easy. I went from getting wrecked every time I encountered stuff to being able to handle enemies that one shot me simply by having fodder. I consider this to be a boon for the game because there should be many playable options and not all should be equally difficult.
Feels like skyrim but with actually good combat. The amount of random stuff everywhere to uncover is crazy.
- Comment on 2 weeks ago:
I don’t think marketing was the problem, the lack of joysticks was a problem though for many.
PC gaming/Steam seems to be a lot more popular today than it was in 2015. Back then we didn’t have the scalper problem as bad as we have now either. Everybody I knew back then was using an xbox 360 wired controller, which I still think was one of the best controllers ever.
Now that every game page on steam shows controller support and the deck exists we’ve had a ton of focus on good or at least mostly functional controller controls in loads of games which never would have had it in the past.
- Comment on The recent SteamOS 3.8 update seems to have greatly improved steam remote play 3 weeks ago:
There’s way too much stuff I need to do remotely to limit it to streaming just games or the UI. Back when I suffered windows I used parsec, but moonlight is far superior if you can solve for networking.

i’ve had headsets with it. Just takes a very small battery with some seconds of life.
- Comment on US | Massachusetts votes to pass new privacy rights bill that bans sale of precise location data 4 weeks ago:
don’t get me wrong I like the direction it’s going but loopholes are gonna always exist, and proving this happens is about as easy as proving someone pirated software by setting up a sftp server and giving the credentials to a buddy…. and they could simply ship backup tapes to somewhere as an offsite copy and make it completely impossible to figure out.
- Comment on US | Massachusetts votes to pass new privacy rights bill that bans sale of precise location data 4 weeks ago:
We’re not selling our data, we’re giving it freely to our sister company incorporated as an LLC in Texas! (or some other location where the law becomes unenforcable.)
- Comment on Wide-ranging 7-zip vulnerability with 8.8 CVE rating allows for code execution — hundreds of millions of machines potentially at risk 1 month ago:
…and because i’m sure people still won’t read the article, this also includes countless things that use 7zip libraries to do zipping actions, including things like file browsers, chocolatey and probably other stuff. 7zip is foss and widely used for all kinds of things t hat go beyond consumer gui usage.
- Comment on Wide-ranging 7-zip vulnerability with 8.8 CVE rating allows for code execution — hundreds of millions of machines potentially at risk 1 month ago:
application my man. Literally the first paragraph of the article contains:
If a user simply opens a booby-trapped crafted archive (.7z, .zip, .rar, etc) on a machine with at least 16 GB of RAM, they’ll be running malicious code. Extracting the archive isn’t necessary; only opening it is enough. We recommend that everyone immediately update to the latest version, 26.01, published in late April; all previous versions are vulnerable.
- Comment on Steam Deck back in stock, with higher pricing 1 month ago:
There is absolutely nothing necessary about the steam controller. Everything can be done with other controllers or input methods. We have steam input available.
I’ve used the deck and Linux in general on TVs and in desktop setups. I pretty much always need a keyboard and mouse handy for specific things or specific games. Just makes it easier.. like it’s always faster to type text on an honest to god keyboard than any other input methods from voice to motion to touch to sign language. A WiFi keyboard is about the same price as a pizza where I live.

No shit, and all the widely used captchas in the world have been training ML models too… as have all the voice recordings from all the smart assistants in everybody’s homes, phones and cars.

I’ll believe it when I see it.
I’m seeing prices get worse actively, not better.
Orders causing this have nearly two years of backlog.

Pricing or frig off lahey!
I have a buddy who wants to play Nioh 3 but has problems spending money. This could be his solution but… not if it’s like $1200+

Unless they make trump the chairman of the board and replace the rest with his chosen mouthpieces, he’d rather pocket the trillion in a Qatar slush fund.
If it was like 25b maybe they would do it, but 1400b is better spent erecting gold monuments in every city with a 3 year lease that has terms to drop the monuments off in maralago

The scale of their commitments is just… too big.
- Comment on ChatGPT Go subscription rolls out worldwide at $8, but it'll show you ads 5 months ago:
I don’t have ads with them. Their poor tier is the ad tier.
I’m close to dumping them though. Price increases are out of hand. Content feels razor thin compared to how it used to be.
It should cost less per person as they grow userbase but instead it costs more. They pocket the economy of scale while we get fucked.
- Comment on ChatGPT Go subscription rolls out worldwide at $8, but it'll show you ads 5 months ago:
These guys are desperate for revenue. It’s a last ditch effort cash grab so they don’t go bankrupt.
They’ve already committed to spend over a trillion dollars on infrastructure. They’re going down long before that ever happens.

Start-up plans to attempt using a different band of the EM spectrum for a communications medium, news at 11?
Lasers are already terahertz frequency (~200ish Thz), just higher than the radio portion (~30 Thz).

Sea of Stars just didn’t click for me. Having a cook fight side by side two trained-for-life combatants was terrible for immersion.
I like my stories to be a bit more gritty too, it feels sanitized.

FSR2 looks like trash all around. I don’t understand why it’s so common and why FSR 3.1 isn’t included, given how so many workarounds exist when you tinker with 3rd party apps to enable the functionality work so well.
- Comment on Amazon launches Vega OS, its Android replacement for Fire TV with no sideloading 9 months ago:
There has got to be some kind of collusion going on to try and lock us into only approved software. They want to make it so the only source of content is something we must pay up for. I can’t comprehend this push for a walled garden when places like the EU are explicitly banning this anti-competitive behavior.
Google’s plans to remove sideloading from android are similarly anti-competitive.
Mandating secureboot to play games like Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty 2025 is similarly moronic. It’s not going to stop cheating.
- Comment on Planning on buying a SteamDeck. What should I know before purchasing? 10 months ago:
With how big the thing is I really don't want more bulk on it. My brother in law had a deck until his girlfriend knocked it off a table and destroyed the shell...
My wife has already knocked mine off a couch and caused the case to un-clip in one spot, but it could have very easily been much worse.
I get wanting a case on the thing lol
