Don’t like it, then don’t buy it. I find it hilarious that people call it overpriced, but can’t show me a cheaper controller with the same features.

If you’ve never created a custom menu for a game on the steam deck, I can understand not getting the hype. I have customized the controls for a few games so much that I found myself reaching for my deck even when I had my TV or computer available. For me having the same control layout between deck and controller is huge.

How do you login to “your” quest?

I fully understand that, and I still hav my gaming pc if I want to boot up intensive games like half life alyx. The primary pain point with the index was when I was using already using the PC it was attached to and someone else wanted to play beatsaber or something else for a quick session.
With the frame you’ll easily be able to move to a different room and play standalone, or move to another gaming pc with a single dongle instead of having to deal with the base stations and headset power, USB, and display connections.

That would involve giving Meta my money.
They ‘trust me.’ Dumb fucks Zuckerberg

I already sold my index in anticipation of the frame. Removing the tether and being able to run games without a pc were all that it took to convince me.

Economies of scale plus a few years for the VR market to mature. Plus no lighthouses

I would be extremely surprised if the frame costs more at lanuch than the index, which was $1000.

As far as I know there is no evidence to support the fact that the hack was installed remotely. It’s much more likely that it was a targeted attack where they gained access to the compromised system some other way, then waited for the tournament to act.
But I agree with you that there is also plenty of evidence pointing to cheaters getting past kernel level anti cheat in games like valorant and continuing to cheat.
