  IMO all things on the clearnet will eventually succumb to near constant corporate influence. I2P will be the main way people actually use the internet in the future I think, though ofc I only have a surface level knowledge of what it is.

  All of the issues that are described here are caused by proprietary tech that linux devs are forced to reverse engineer, so ofc not everything is going to work right off the bat. If you really care that much about a fingerprint scanner then, yeah, stick with windows and enjoy it. Good luck with that too.
