- Comment on docking station 1 year ago:
I have the JSAUX dock, and it works well about 90% of the time. I occasionally have to change the inputs on my TV back and forth several times because the steam deck gets confused when I switch inputs on the TV. And occasionally the steam deck stops recognizing input from the USB ports on the dock, and I will need to unplug everything from the dock (including the steam deck and power) and plug it all back in. I’m not sure if these issues are from the dock or the steam deck itself. The first issue could even be my TV, which I got back in 2010.

It looks worth it though.
- Comment on [Discussion] What games are you currently playing on your deck? - October 2023 1 year ago:
I’m currently replaying SNES games that I had in my childhood. I finished Goof Troop today. It… wasn’t as good as I remember. But it was fun slowly remembering how to solve the puzzles.

I got that game recommended to me here, and I absolutely loved it. I just finished getting the last achievement this week.

Oh, that’s too bad. Seems like a big miss to leave that feature out.

solely because the Steam version wouldn’t have my progress!
Is that true? It’s not for the Halo games. The saves sync with your Microsoft account, which you log into through the Steam version of the game. I still have my 1th nameplate on the steam version of TMCC because it’s tied to my Microsoft account.
In general though, I avoid the Microsoft store at all costs. I have had too many issues. And it is completely incompatible with Linux. I have on many occasions payed full price for a game that is on gamepass just because dealing with all the issues with the Microsoft store isn’t worth my time.

COD doesn’t work on Linux, unfortunately. So no steam deck support either. Same with Destiny 2, which has imo is best feeling gunplay in any game I have ever played.
- Comment on Xbox PC USB Adapter still doesn't work on SteamOS 3.5 1 year ago:
There’s a way to install it, I have done it myself, but I find it annoy AF that it isn’t preinstalled. And then we have to reinstall it each time the steam deck updates.

That’s would be really neat for those of us with lots of wireless interference in the 2.4 GHz band. I can’t even really use Bluetooth controllers for that reason.
- Comment on I just got my steam deck RMAed after 1.5 years. Guess what was the first thing I did when It turned on. 1 year ago:
I used to work for a company that made an ultra low budget android tablet. We gad dead pixels on like 10% of them. Our LCD provider would tell us the same thing. Unless there are at least 3 dead pixels, they aren’t taking them back. We changed our LCD provider ASAP, but we sold probably 1-2K of those POSes. That’s probably 100-200 $50 tablets with dead pixels.
But at least our tablets were $50 pieces of trash, not $2000+ MacBooks.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate. How else am I supposed to end friendships?
- Comment on [Discussion] Do you use desktop mode, and if so, what do you use it for? - August Week 2 2023 1 year ago:
I almost exclusively use desktop mode. One of the main reasons I got a steam deck was to have a Linux PC connected to my TV at all times. I watch a lot of sports via pirated streams, and those only really work well in a web browser. A raspberry pi 4 was not quick enough to keep up with it, but the steam deck is more than capable.
