Good game, had a ton of fun with it back in its hayday

- Comment on Fortnite adds buildable Star Wars islands, so you can finally make a Mos Eisley Cantina full of flossing Jawas 2 weeks ago:
Every time I see fortnite news, I become more convinced that it’s just becoming the video game equivalent of the experience of walking into a busy Five Below. Just every popular IP lazily thrown onto the most obnoxious and cheap product imaginable.
- Comment on Colossal Order's biggest mistake working on Cities: Skylines 2? Banking on not-quite-ready Unity features 2 weeks ago:
RPS is really going to bat for colossal order. It wasn’t an issue with “not-quite-ready Unity features”, it was an issue with the game being launched unfinished and largely unoptimized. There is no reason that hardware that ran modded CS1 at 120fps should run CS2 at 5fps with all graphics settings at low.
CO’s exec team were greedy and impatient, full stop.

AI is just going down the checklist of “reasons to regulate the shit out of an industry”
- Comment on The Native Linux app for NVIDIA GeForce NOW is now in Beta 2 months ago:
Stadia already crashed and burned years ago. Is there any actual demand for GeForce now? I’ve never met anyone that actually uses it.
- Comment on Ubisoft implementing cost-reduction restructuring, cancelling various games and closing studios 2 months ago:
Have they considered just making good games that are fun and playable without constant monetization? That strategy seems to be working great for indies.
- Comment on Laser based charging system aims to keep drones airborne indefinitely 2 months ago:
Uhh… What happens when a Cessna flies through the beam?
A 1W laser can burn paper in a couple of seconds. A kilowatt is a dangerous and retina exploding amount of light to be firing off into the sky willy nilly. I really don’t see a way to engineer around the issue.

That’s a much more succinct way to put it, well done!
- Comment on Users of generative AI struggle to accurately assess their own competence 3 months ago:
I’ll be the first to hop in on the AI hate train, but isn’t this just broadly true of all humans? We’re pretty notoriously awful at identifying our own gaps in knowledge and skill. I imagine that the constant confirmation from AI exacerbates the issue, but I don’t think it’s entirely AI’s fault that people are bad at recognizing their shortcomings.
- Comment on Call of Duty co-creator, Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment co-founder, and Battlefield head Vince Zampella dies aged 55 3 months ago:
That’s great, I’m glad he wasn’t a total garbage person.
I just don’t have any sympathy for people that die due to their own reckless use of a stupid supercar that they absolutely did not need. He could have bought a reasonable and high performing normie car, donated the rest of the price tag to charity to feed a few thousand people for a year, and be alive. His death is entirely due to selfishness and excess.
- Comment on Call of Duty co-creator, Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment co-founder, and Battlefield head Vince Zampella dies aged 55 3 months ago:
I’m at work, so I can’t really have much of a dialogue about it, but yeah. I think you hit a few different nails on the head.
- Comment on Call of Duty co-creator, Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment co-founder, and Battlefield head Vince Zampella dies aged 55 3 months ago:
Why is this being treated like some great tragedy? This shithead bought a supercar he didn’t know how to drive, went 100mph into a wall and killed himself and his passenger. Fuck him, memorialize the person he killed.
