The steam frame, while seemingly really cool, just won’t be able to handle the worst of pc vr chat because it’s 100% guaranteed to be worse than a dedicated pc. Dedicated pcs already struggle with vr chat. It’s because there’s a million people with custom unoptimised player models everywhere.

VRChat has many many options to deal with that. My PC only has an RTX 2060 and it manages ok.

The Valve reps said in some interview that the cannot even promise HL Alyx running natively on the Frame and that’s their homegrown flagship VR title. You’d think Valve would design hardware tailored to do that.

ok so by your bloody metric, i just wasted a christmas (parents didn’t get my anything so that i could get a bigger present next year on my birthday) so i can get a glorified vr version of a PlayStation portal. is this correct?

It’s not my metric, I merely repeated what I remembered from one of the interviews and my astonishment from hearing what I heard.
