Sadly is a standard price in this market. I personally will wait and enjoy my Deck for a couple more years hoping this whole “Shitpocalypse” to pass.

Reminds me of the time an earthquake (?) destroyed an HDD factory and I have been waiting ever since for them to get on the same price trajectory as they had been back then. I’m still waiting.

Oh man I didn’t even notice. For old people, it feels like we now have a trazillion gazillion bytes for storage. My backups are wildly inefficient and it doesn’t matter anymore.

If you buy one, it will be worth twice as much in a year…
I hope I’m wrong.

For context my 16x2/32GB kit.
I got for $115 March 2025. I also got a second kit that same time from Amazon to make 64GB since Microcenter is 1 per customer. 🥹
$499.99 now lol.

lol - you’re not alone: I’ve been waiting 4 years to replace my, now, 12 year old PC.
At first I was waiting for the whole crypto craze to loosen the demand on GPUs. Now, due to the AI hype, additionally memory is out of my price range.
But, hey, my aging PC isn’t qualified to run Windows 11 (the mobo doesn’t have TPM 2) - so, at least I have that going for me.

That sounds like a good thing tbh

I’ve ranted in past comments, but pretty similar here. Got a pre-built that was supposed to be 64gb but came with 32. Got a refund for about 100 to pick up another 32 (at the time that’s about what it was and it saved me the return process), bought the wrong thing so the two sets wouldn’t play nice and then ram started going out of stock and spiking in price the same week so I never fixed it.
Ended up giving one set to a buddy last week so… saved him 500 bucks i guess lol.
