People understand that this is the infrastructure for a dystopian future where ai is watching everyone in real time and keeping profiles on every action.
- Comment on 'Big Short' Michael Burry bets $1bn on AI bubble bursting | LBC 2 weeks ago:
Probably now it will drop a bit, this week, due to negative news. Today is also down it looks like.

Yeah, and The Big Short is one of my favorite movies in that genre.
- Comment on Here’s How the AI Crash Happens 2 weeks ago:
The algorithms are working overtime this week to make people sell their tech stocks.
I guess november is gonna be a good month. Big whales coming in to buy at low prices.
- Comment on YouTube Quietly Erased More Than 700 Videos Documenting Israeli Human Rights Violations 2 weeks ago:
I follow people talk about life, improving themselves, learning things.
You cant go by the most watched or recommended content, that stuff is pure garbage.
- Comment on 'Big Short' Michael Burry bets $1bn on AI bubble bursting | LBC 2 weeks ago:
There is a big media event now to post scary news about the stock market, and push bitcoin and tech stocks down.
Happens now and then when the big investors want to get in cheaper.
- Comment on Frostpunk 2's first bit of DLC gets a seasonally appropriate release date, though it does sound a bit bare-bones 2 weeks ago:
Most disappointing game of the year for me. I bought it for like 50 dollars, played like 4 hours. Incredibly boring.
- Comment on EA's big AI push is reportedly leading to staff concerns about "flawed code" and setting up your own layoff 3 weeks ago:
Yeah, become a contractor if you can. Its a different budget than they have for employees so no problem getting paid, while employees are given a tiny bag of money every year, distributed to each employee as “the budget for salary increases”. Usually a couple of percent increase, where half goes away as tax.
Its such a scam.
- Comment on Here’s what ads on your $2,000 Samsung smart fridge will look like 3 weeks ago:
I was wondering that too… Appearently it has a camera inside and you can connect to it using wifi so you dont have to walk 10 steps to look inside it.
- Comment on EA's big AI push is reportedly leading to staff concerns about "flawed code" and setting up your own layoff 3 weeks ago:
Thats the end goal yeah. Salaries are the most expensive cost for companies.
- Comment on Here’s what ads on your $2,000 Samsung smart fridge will look like 3 weeks ago:
I think in the future, the screen will keep track of whats inside the fridge and be able to create shopping lists and maybe even order things.
But right now, I would never pay for it. Its like the wifi i have in my owen. Never connected it but I paid for it since it was included…
- Comment on ‘There isn’t really another choice:’ Signal chief explains why the encrypted messenger relies on AWS 3 weeks ago:
Thats true but what examples is there of successful distributed apps with tons of users?
- Comment on After laying off 9,000 employees , Microsoft records $27.2 billion profit in latest quarter 3 months ago:
Seems minor. If they wanted people to pay for it, they would block games since thats what most young people use windows for…
- Comment on After laying off 9,000 employees , Microsoft records $27.2 billion profit in latest quarter 3 months ago:
Yeah. I havent used windows in a long time but when I was, you could play games without any license… What is locked?
- Comment on After laying off 9,000 employees , Microsoft records $27.2 billion profit in latest quarter 3 months ago:
Actually these days, windows is free because what Microsoft wants is your user data. And unless you stop that from being sent to Microsoft, you are generating profit for them every time you use your computer.
- Comment on France’s new laser rifle silently melts electronics at 500 meters — and Ukrainian infantry could really use it 5 months ago:
Its funny because humans see themselves as very smart, but they built a society where everyone has to work all day to pay their bills, because fantasy “money” is seen as a real thing despite just existing inside computer programs.
- Comment on Trump administration fires US Copyright Office head Shira Perlmutter; her office had raised concerns about using copyrighted content to train AI 6 months ago:
And then you are fired if that sales guy is actually running the show. Politics…
- Comment on Steam Survey for April 2025 results available, Linux sits at 2.27% 6 months ago:

Nobody is shocked.

Haha “could have”. :)
- Comment on Pakistan Cracks Down On Free Speech Online. 9 months ago:
Sounds like Lemmy. Someone says something not based in science and it’s reported as misinformation. :)
- Comment on Xfce 4.20 desktop released with experimental Wayland support 11 months ago:
Anyone trying xfce should be amazed how fast it is. I think current generation of computer users never used an operating system that is as instant as xfce. It’s quite an experience, almost stressful, because the system is constantly waiting for you. :)
- Comment on KDE Plasma 6.3 will have much better fractional scaling 11 months ago:
Cool. I don’t think I will notice a difference but maybe. It’s already good.
- Comment on Google says its new quantum chip indicates that multiple universes exist 11 months ago:
So it’s fine to make statements like this but it’s not fine to write an angry post on the web. Yeah makes sense. /s
- Comment on Path Of Exile 2 is so "severely overloaded" by players that Grinding Gear are hiring new support staff 11 months ago:
This is what happens when you make a good game. Luxary problems. :)
- Comment on California could become the first state to require social media warning labels 11 months ago:
Toxic gas also has warning labels. What’s the point.
- Comment on Path of Exile 2 Peaks at Over 459,000 Concurrent Steam Players on Early Access Launch 11 months ago:
And as usual, no activity. What’s wrong with just a gaming community? All these communities are just useless.
- Comment on Linux hits exactly 2% user share on the October 2024 Steam Survey 1 year ago:
I’m happy with the current state actually. Too much people using Linux and it’s going to become a target for ads and tracking. Currently we are flying under the radar, and it’s amazing. We are in the sweet spot of having enough quality software without the downsides.
- Comment on Path Of Exile 2 early access release delayed to December to ensure your POE microtransactions carry over 1 year ago:
I think the good loot drop rate is way to rare in the original game, made me tired of it. Didn’t feel like doing the same thing a million times (running maps) and die thousands of times either.
- Comment on Subnautica 2 early access should last "2 to 3 years" - it'll launch with "several biomes" and "some narrative" 1 year ago:
I was thinking this too.
It’s a worse experience for players who play an unfinished game, and then when the game is done, most players have already played it and are tired of it.
