- Comment on Steam Deck OLED Plays Better Than Steam Deck LCD: Big Input Lag Reductions 2 weeks ago:
Most people aren’t that sensitive to it, particularly with controller rather than mouse & k/b input.

Yeah, audio in general seems to be a bit bugged. I’ve had issues with apps and games not actually using the default output/sink. Thankfully, the output they are choosing is the one I use most of the time, but it’s annoying when that’s not the case.

I’d like to see that too. There’s definitely an obvious improvement. It might even be an improvement over my own colourmeter correction, although I’ll have to re-measure it with the changes.
I wouldn’t expect it to match the OLED mind you, just because of contrast and a wider colour gamut (and HDR) but it might be enough for some.

- Comment on [News] Steam Deck OLED review: much more than a screen improvement - Polygon 3 weeks ago:
Dedicated bluetooth module, allowing better audio quality over bluetooth and the option to wake the steam deck from a bluetooth controller. Will also support more controllers at once for multiplayer.
Anyone know what version? It would nice if it would support LE audio since that should help with latency significantly. Not that there are many client devices that support it yet, but Pipewire at least has some initial support.

There is no way to change the layout of physical keyboards in the gaming mode. Those settings don’t change anything in the gaming mode and but the gaming mode settings only work for the on screen keyboard.
You might be able to since
gamescope
(the compositor that the deck uses ingame mode
) supports keyboard layouts through XKB environment variables, but I’m not sure where to specify those on the deck (and it might even require write mode), - Comment on Valve: don’t expect a faster Steam Deck ‘in the next couple of years’ 2 months ago:
I think we are getting close to the Deckard being announced, the successor to the Index.
Hopefully it’s cheaper and more widely available than the Index. I’m waiting for it because I don’t want to deal with Windows anymore for anything, and VR is one of the last requirements.

High refresh rates and VRR go hand to hand, so you’d still want that if you want VRR. You just limit the framerate to 60fps or lower if you don’t want the hit to battery life.

If there is a performance cost for this, hopefully it isn’t too high given the limited resources of the Deck.
