- Comment on Firefighters Struggle to Break the Tesla Cybertruck’s “Transparent Metal” Glass During Emergency Response Training 1 week ago:
Does the Cybertruck also include the Tesla door handles with the hidden manual release mechanism?
- Comment on Data centers powering artificial intelligence could use more electricity than entire cities 1 week ago:
If that’s what they want, then make them pay for it. No subsidies for this bullshit.
- Comment on Nike’s Air Max 1000 are almost entirely 3D-printed 2 weeks ago:
I am sure they will be overpriced compared to manufacturing costs, just like Crocs.
- Comment on Meta must face FTC trial that could separate Instagram and WhatsApp 2 weeks ago:
It will depend on if Zuck has done anything to kiss him off. If so he will probably give the FTC the go ahead. That’s how he operates. It’s not about what’s good for the country. It’s about quid pro quo.
- Comment on Meta must face FTC trial that could separate Instagram and WhatsApp 2 weeks ago:
They never should have let meta buy Instagram in the first place. 🤷♂️
- Comment on Max is getting ready for its own password-sharing crackdown 3 weeks ago:
Crack down all you want. I haven’t been subscribed since Last Of Us season 1 ended. The more you jack up the prices and other shit like this, the less likely I am to subscribe.
- Comment on Microsoft Rewards offers $1 million grand prize in latest sweepstakes to users of Bing, Edge 3 weeks ago:
Is this like an Elon “sweepstakes” where the winners are predetermined and not chosen at random? In mean I have to check to see if this is worth my time now that the courts have redefined what a sweepstakes is.
- Comment on Humane recalls the AI Pin’s charging case due to overheating concerns 4 weeks ago:
How is this company not out of business yet?
- Comment on Disney Plus and Hulu won’t let you sign up through Apple anymore 1 month ago:
It’s not really a closed garden when you can subscribe to the service from outside the app store and it still works.
I’m guessing this change was made because tv channel purchases made through AppleTV are subject to “family plan” sharing rules. I seriously doubt that this is about the 15% to 30% convenience fee Apple charges the provider.
- Comment on The Internet Archive’s Fight to Save Itself 2 months ago:
Google just started pointing search results to the archive instead of their own cache. I would hope Google would be donating some supportive money to the archive as a goodwill gesture.

Clever idea. Plenty of pre-built Billy bookcases and Kallax shelves out there.
- Comment on The FCC proposes requiring robocallers to disclose when they’re using AI 3 months ago:
Lol. Good luck with that.
- Comment on Google is purging ‘low-quality’ Android apps next month 4 months ago:
I wish Apple would do this. So much crap on the App Store that’s just a website with an app wrapper.
- Comment on SCOTUS agrees to review Texas law that caused Pornhub to leave the state 4 months ago:
I wonder if Clarence Thomas is willing to provide ID to watch Long Dong Silver?
- Comment on Netflix is starting to phase out its cheapest ad-free plan 4 months ago:
I haven’t had Netflix in two years. There’s nothing on there I want to watch anyway.
- Comment on Firefox now lets you choose your preferred AI chatbot in its Nightly builds 5 months ago:
My preferred chatbot is none.
- Comment on Google dropping continuous scroll in search results 5 months ago:
Probably related to upping ad views. Every next page shows a new ad, which makes Google more $$$.
- Comment on Paramount Plus is getting yet another price hike 5 months ago:
I’m sure that will help them increase their subscriber base. 🙄
- Comment on Jack Dorsey says he’s no longer on the Bluesky board 6 months ago:
Changed well known Square branding to “Block”. Killed Vine just before TikTok took off. Sold Twitter to Elon Musk. Now kicked off the board of Bluesky. What a genius!
- Comment on Peacock is getting a $2 price increase 7 months ago:
Brave move from a channel next to no one watches.
- Comment on Telecoms To Get $45 Billion In Taxpayer Broadband Subsidies, But Are Whining Because They Might Have To Deliver Affordable Broadband To A Few Poor People 7 months ago:
This is in addition to the last two times we gave them billions to build out internet infrastructure.
- Comment on Texas is replacing thousands of human exam graders with AI 7 months ago:
Texas isn’t really interested in educating their population.
- Comment on 5.25-inch floppy disks expected to help run San Francisco trains until 2030 7 months ago:
Or you could just virtualize the machine in an emulator and run it from disk images. 🤷♂️
- Comment on Despite Microsoft's push, Windows 11 and Edge see decreases in user share 8 months ago:
Windows 11 has a crap UI, is difficult to install, and offers few advantages over Windows 10. No wonder it’s tanking.
Edge has become a bloated Privacy nightmare.
- Comment on Inside the Coyote vs. Acme Rollercoaster From a Voice Actor at the Front of the Campaign to Save It 8 months ago:
I hope the IRS tells WB they can’t take a tax write off for a property that other studios have offered to buy (for more than the write down value).
- Comment on Paramount+ Orders New ‘NCIS’ Spin-Off Starring Cote de Pablo, Michael Weatherly 8 months ago:
It doesn’t feel like the audience that drives streaming subscription revenue is the same audience that watches NCIS on CBS. I’m guessing Paramount is basing this decision on streaming numbers of other NCIS properties on their channel?
- Comment on Tomb Raider Remastered devs apologises for releasing an unfinished version on Epic Games Store 8 months ago:
Most of these “remastered” versions don’t look any different from the original releases.
- Comment on Netflix Poised to Raise Prices in 2024 as It Continues to Gain Share of TV Viewing 9 months ago:
Streaming customer growth has plateaued. So they are increasing prices to try to increase revenue — because people are too lazy to cancel.
