- Comment on When the Steam Deck was still just an idea, Valve says some staff were like, "I just want that for me" and "the point wasn't even to make a product out of it" 1 month ago:
Some people like a lighter weight and different grips. Lots of cases have a kickstand where you can prop up the deck and use your favorite controller.
- Comment on Former Paradox, CD Projekt and 11-bit devs reveal new 4X strategy RPG that splices Manor Lords with Crusader Kings 1 month ago:
I understand why it can’t be multiplayer with how long the feasts and other events can run. But I love playing these games with friends.
- Comment on Nintendo shuts down Ryujinx 2 months ago:
I’d guess it is because the most popular way to acquire games for Citra was Nintendo’s own servers
- Comment on No Rest For The Wicked will be playable on Steam Deck, although recommended PC specs may be a worry 8 months ago:
Hell I usually limit games to 45 or 30 if they happen to run 50+ on the Deck. Not because I don’t notice a difference but because “what if I can’t charge my Deck for some reason?”.
- Comment on Arma and DayZ makers’ free-to-play looter-shooter Vigor is coming to PC, half a decade after consoles 8 months ago:
Given the state of DayZ I’m not confident it will be much more stable after they get out of Early Access.
- Comment on Keanu Reeves to play Shadow in the Sonic 3 movie as Sega announce the Year of Shadow 8 months ago:
Yeah he’s basically just a notch deeper than how I remember Shadow’s VA from Sonic Adventure 2.
- Comment on CD Projekt Red still 'don't see a place for microtransactions' in singleplayer games 8 months ago:
CDPR could be a lot better with mods, they intentionally undercooked their mod tools to ‘protect’ DLC sales. Didn’t stop people from doing some wild things like replacing all combat with themed Gwent decks.
- Comment on Valves iFixit partnership is a game changer 9 months ago:
Lenovos used to be even better, with quick access to a lot of internals via various hatches on the bottom
- Comment on [Game] Palworld gets Steam Deck mod to improve performance 10 months ago:
Default configuration worked fairly well for me in my first hour. Perhaps it tanks significantly once your factory really gets into swing
- Comment on Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1 1 year ago:
I find it a little upsetting that 5’s parody has become only a slight exaggeration of reality
- Comment on These shell swaps really do be taking 5 hours 1 year ago:
My first steam deck that I returned due to screen bubbles had a sticky B button out of the box. My replacement has a creaky left trigger. Can’t win.
- Comment on 1 year ago:
Yeah OSI model says to check the connection between access point and deck. I remember back when I used the Steam Link to stream to my living room from my wireless desktop I would actually get better performance if the Steam Link was wireless point blank from the access point than if it was connected via Ethernet.
- Comment on 1 year ago:
Moonlight is unreasonably capable. I initially dismissed it when I had shoddy performance between a wireless desktop and the steam deck. Then I set up tailscale and tried it outside the home during a lunch break, it was impossibly smooth. I thought maybe it was something to do with the fiber at my work. So I tried it at a friend’s place in the next town over with the same ISP, impossibly smooth.
Now I’m in the process of overhauling my home network to figure out why it’s better outside my home.
