- Comment on New Arizona law to restrict online porn access; Pornhub will block state 1 week ago:
I don’t believe they are doing anything wrong. I never said they’re doing anything wrong.
- Comment on New Arizona law to restrict online porn access; Pornhub will block state 1 week ago:
Yeah, I their their proposed option of using standardized tags for content blockers for parents to use is much more sensible. But this law isn’t about protecting children, it’s about control and seeing what they can get away with. With the stir about transgender people being classified as nihilistic violent extremists the idea of seeing discussion of LGBT topics online as “obscene” and requiring submitting your ID to do is not far fetched.
- Comment on New Arizona law to restrict online porn access; Pornhub will block state 1 week ago:
I’m not “having them do” anything, I’m saying that if you don’t serve content that requires age verification in jurisdictions where that content requires age verification then that’s complying with the law. That’s it.
- Comment on New Arizona law to restrict online porn access; Pornhub will block state 1 week ago:
They are not displaying content that requires age verification in those jurisdictions. That’s compliant.
- Comment on New Arizona law to restrict online porn access; Pornhub will block state 1 week ago:
I don’t think it would be a problem. My state has a sports betting company HQ but sports betting is still illegal in my state.
- Comment on New Arizona law to restrict online porn access; Pornhub will block state 1 week ago:
I wouldn’t really describe complying with a law as taking a stand against it. Pornhub blocks all US states which require ID verification.

I think a few others still offer dialup if they need it, bit idk how it works. I guess Amy dialup provider can work as long as you have a landline.

I’m not saying Blippi hasn’t done anything (I don’t even know what the allegations are), I’m just saying even if Beast didn’t diddle children he’s still bad.
- Comment on MrBeast scraps AI YouTube thumbnail generator days after announcing it: 'If creators don't want the tools, no worries' 2 months ago:
It’s not like the threshold for being bad is as high as hurting children lol. You can still be a bad person even if you’re not diddling minors lol.

What revelation are you waiting for? He’s already awful.
- Comment on Starting today, Heroic Games Launcher is indexing their Discord server 4 months ago:
I am using the terminology Discord uses. I am aware it is not a server in the traditional sense. Be angry with them, not me.
- Comment on Starting today, Heroic Games Launcher is indexing their Discord server 4 months ago:
Because you can make a Discord server with a few clicks. It’s super easy. I wish more people used things indexable by search engines too, but you really can’t deny how incredibly easy Discord is from the side of the people wanting to set up something.

Wasn’t that already true?
- Comment on Consumers make their voices heard as Microsoft's huge venture flatlines in popularity 5 months ago:
Gemini is such a joke. I long pressed my phone’s button while driving to send my wife a text with voice to text. Gemini pops up and is like “I can’t do that”. Then I ask it to switch back and it gives me instructions on how. I can’t do that while I’m driving though. So annoying and useless. Couldn’t navigate anywhere either or okay my music.

That’s just Bazzite, CachyOS doesn’t have a similar clause.
- Comment on Happy three years to the Steam Deck - the Linux gaming machine that changed everything 7 months ago:
I have a 3070 ti, I am using Cachy Linux. How do you feel held back? I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m curious about your experience. My experience has been great and I’m confused what the fuss was about. Maybe it’s easier now that Nvidia drivers are open (or at least fauxpen)? Idk.
- Comment on A young computer scientist and two colleagues show that searches within data structures called hash tables can be much faster than previously deemed possible. 7 months ago:
It feels just as odd to say “a component of fuel consuming engines called a catalytic converter”. You’re missing the point.
- Comment on A young computer scientist and two colleagues show that searches within data structures called hash tables can be much faster than previously deemed possible. 7 months ago:
I need to look more into this, I would’ve thought query time on hash tables was already constant.

It just feels bizarre. You wouldn’t say something like “a car part called a catalytic converter”.
- Comment on ISPs say their “excellent customer service” is why users don’t switch providers 10 months ago:
I don’t switch providers because, for whatever reason, fiber only covers like 99.9% of my city and I don’t have any way to get them to cover the remaining parts.
Believe me, if I could track down how/why they laid fiber and prove that they should’ve done it to my house then I would. I just don’t know to begin that process. I’ve heard fiber was laid using public grants which is why I even think it might be a possibility.
- Comment on API error knocks PayPal, Venmo offline around the globe 10 months ago:
It’s weird to me that you believe the market ultimately decides what crypto is worth while acknowledging manipulation happens, but don’t believe the market ultimately decides what the US dollar is worth while acknowledging the fed controls the rate of inflation.
- Comment on API error knocks PayPal, Venmo offline around the globe 10 months ago:
Cash still loses value at the whim of the central bank
You don’t believe that an unregulated and anonymous money like crypto doesn’t have its price manipulated?
