No, that came after he changed the license. Linux users installed an old version because that was the newest version that was allowed to be packaged. Then, people gave bug reports and feature requests, based on that old version (which were already addressed in newer versions), mostly because they didn’t know any better.
It’s not entitlement if you want to use the package manager on a linux system.

The dev forbids packaging his emulator via licence. I’m pleading that they’re the asshole.

Considering I played the original on the Steam Controller (and it worked awesome): Imagine they actually have an official Steamdeck Layout with Flick-Stick, touch menus and gyro-lean (optional). 🤤

And if I remerber correctly: The quicksave function is diegetic, i.e.: explained in the lore of the game (since savescumming is pretty mandatory in these kind, of games).
- Comment on Reliable tutorial on side loading games on Deck? 6 months ago:
Yep. Remember that the deck is a PC, so you’d install them, not “sideload” anything.
You’ll still most likely need to run the setup with a compatibility layer (i.e. WINE/proton). Just add the setup as a non-steam game and install it via the steam client (in Desktop mode)

Does Chrono Trigger by now have more “spiritual successors” than System Shock 2?

Remember when it took about 20 years until a game was “remastered”? Peperidge Farm remembers.
- Comment on Valve has a new Steam Chart for the most played Steam Deck games 1 year ago:
I think it was actually, because the game stuttered when compiling shaders on PC. Valve then precompiled all the shaders for the steam deck and delivered those via the steam client.

Those poor devs never got a chance, did they? Fuck Microsoft. =.=
