I’m really excited with all this ARM compatibility stuff. Hopefully we will be able to install steam OS on Android devices at some point.

Oh, you’re right, I still have some difficulty with some words that sound similar to me but mean completely different things, thanks for the heads up!

It’s ok, much happier from learning new plugins :)
TabMaster sounds really cool, I don’t like much the default tabs so might give a try. I’m looking into syncing between Deck and PC for emulation and games that don’t support steam cloud with Syncthing and I think I’m going to need Proton tricks, I think that it’s called so, to help me with the save paths.

Some useful plugins: the one that lets you customize the theme on your deck, the one that allows you to scrap the covers for your non steam games right in gaming mode UI. Also the one that shows proton DB badges on your games and the other that let you manage your proton version. There is a bunch of other utilities in there for a lot of other use cases.

Great! I’ve been staying out of beta lately because of how it breaks Decky more than I’m willing to fix it. And this new feature is a nice one to have.

I’m not an expert on the whole Fediverse thing. I use Voyager on iPad since it is a clone of Apollo that I used back with Reddit, and I use Boost on my phone since I too used Boost for Reddit. I’m a simple man :)
In Boost it shows as Seam hardware and in Voyager as Steam deck. It’s fine with me since I know what’s going on. May it be a deal for someone that doesn’t know? I don’t think so, but who knows.

Maybe it needs some more time to propagate. As long as I don’t need to do anything on my side is ok :)

I keep seeing the same name (Voyager for iPad) is there anything I need to do, or am I just fine?
- Comment on [Discussion] Should this community also cover the Steam Machine and/or Steam Frame? 1 week ago:
Definitely yes, they all run Steam OS and all 3 device are very interchangeable in what the offer. Plus there’s not that much people to properly support 3 different communities.

- Comment on [Discussion] What are you playing on your Deck? - November 2025 3 weeks ago:
My three all time favs are Guacamelee 1 and 2 and Shadow Complex. The combat and traversal of the formers is so much fun. And the settings and 2.5D if the later are so cool. Also enjoyed Castlevania symphony of the night and hollow knight quite a bit, albeit the traversal in this game is so so.

Well, I’m four hours in, that should be plenty of time for a game to be good at that point. I’ve played many metroidvanias that are far better than this game and all those were great from minute one. Guess this game isn’t for me :)
I still have Samus Return on my 3Ds, hope the emmi thing isn’t a staple of the series, will check it out in the future.
- Comment on [Discussion] What are you playing on your Deck? - November 2025 3 weeks ago:
My biggest complaint is that the emmi zones are annoying and, time-wise are about two thirds of the game. And honestly the zones in between doesn’t feel great either and the three bosses I found so far are kinda repetitive too.

Playing Metroid Dread right now, not having much fun though might quit and start play Ratchet and clank a rift apart tomorrow if things doesn’t get any better.
- Comment on New rumor suggests Valve's Steam Deck 2 is much further away than we thought 2 months ago:
The Deck shape is too square, I know this is for maintaining the smallest footprint, but for comfort it should be shape more like a parallelogram with the sides pointing slightly outwards, like regular controllers are. For my the shape of the PS4 is perfect but if that is too much the something more subtle like the 8BitDo ultimate, albeit no ideal, would do it.
Regarding the shoulder buttons the triggers are recessed compared to the shoulder buttons, this is this way because with a square shape is the only solution available. It’s the exact same layout as the Wii U tablet controller and makes it difficult to easily reach both the shoulder and trigger without cramping your hands. With a non square shape the top of the Deck could be more rounded and then have buttons layout similar to regular controllers.
As for the back buttons well, they are simply horrible, flat, only shaped and positioned (they are at a straight angle when the should be tilted slightly inwards), they are hard to press and uncomfortable for longer gaming sessions. Anything they do with these should be an improvement.
- Comment on New rumor suggests Valve's Steam Deck 2 is much further away than we thought 2 months ago:
The only things I need from a new deck are ergonomic changes, larger display a better grips and buttons placement, specifically back buttons and shoulders/triggers. Not in a hurry though.
- Comment on Planning on buying a SteamDeck. What should I know before purchasing? 3 months ago:
So I’m super happy with my OLED, I switched my Switch for in and have zero regrets. I play mainly on my PC and use the Deck for couch gaming mainly for games that don’t use mouse/keyboard, like older games, emulation, rpgs, twin sticks shooters, etc. I play most of the time in handheld mode.
But there are a few things I would wish they were better, some are personal preferences so take them as they are:
- I wish the screen was larger. Im in my mid forties and on games with tiny characters (e.g. Hades) thi is particularly noticeable.
- The back buttons suck big time, like really, you then go back to your controller of choice with back paddles and it’s even more noticeable how bad they are. In general the controls could use some better ergonomics.
- The whole dock situation is very broken in my opinion, especially if you compare it to something as seamless as the Switch. For several reasons: when docking, sometimes the image doesn’t fill the TV screen because the Deck is 16:10 and the TV is 16:9 and they have different resolution. There is a setting to mitigate that, sometimes it works, sometimes it’s not. And when it’s not you either have to deal with it or restart the game. HDMI CEC is a whole world of its own, you may have a dock that supports it or not and if not is a pain to deal with. Have a third party controller for when it is docked? Well, you’ll have to fiddle in the settings every time you dock or undock for it to work properly.
- The cloud save thing is finicky too. You will be surprised at how many games in your library don’t support it, well, at least in my library, probably because I play lots of older games. But even in the games that support it, it lacks a lot. See. The point of cloud saving would be to be able to seamlessly switch between your Deck and PC and vice versa and continue playing there, right? Well, not quite. In order for Steam Cloud to work you need to EXIT the game first (and pray that the game you are playing allow for saving freely anytime), then wait a few seconds for it to sync (sometimes up to half a minute). It might sound picky but you are playing on the Deck, you want to just press the standby button, leave it resting on the dock and go play to your PC. Well not so fast.
- There are other minor gripes like when sometimes it takes an eternity to wake from standby or when the mouse doesn’t work on desktop mode for some reason and you have to keep the Steam hey pressed for it to work.
- Getting your GOG, Epic or Amazon games to work is not always as straightforward as Heroic Launcher makes it seem and sometimes you’ll need to troubleshoot stuff.
Is still a great machine that allows your entire PC library on the go and works great on all games I throw at it but my point is that it is not as seamless as some people want to make it look. It is not a console and it shows. I don’t have a problem with that but it is worth noticing it.

So, could I stream my basic Gamepass subscription games on my PC to the deck or will it be capped somehow?
- Comment on [Discussion] The Steam Spring sale is live, what games are you buying for your Deck? 8 months ago:
They gave away Weird West on Epic a while ago. I checked it on Game Pass and had to quit it. The atmosphere is very good and overall looks interesting but the controls were awful for me to get used to. If you are going to get it I recommend checking it before the return window expires, just in case.

Probably Zomboid, been eyeing it for a while. And maybe Heavy Rain, at €2 it’s very tempting.

Thanks again for your efforts. Maybe it would be a good idea to include a link to an index of old issues instead of only the last one. Or maybe no because this are news and maybe old stuff is less important.

I must be among the few that liked Wolfensteing Young Blood, quite a bit indeed. I acknowledge it is not as cool as the mainline games but the shooting is in there and there is a lot of stuff to shoot at which is what I like the most about those games I hope the come with a new entry in the series soon.

You know the fun thing? If they managed to reduce the roughly 3+ centimeters of useless bezel on all sides the size wouldn’t be so unreasonable.

I’m playing some Unicorn Overlord, it took a while to kick in but now I’m totally hooked.
