- Comment on What do you prefer for audio? Earphones, headphones, speakers? 3 days ago:
Yes I know, that is because Phonak use Bluetooth classic, and older standard with more lag, more battery consumption and less quality but far more compatibility. I heard you can connect a Phonak to pretty much anything Bluetooth capable, even old dumb phones or mp3 players.
I have the Resound Nexia which use Bluetooth LE audio, MFI and ASHA protocol which are supposedly better but you need devices that support them. MFI is for Apple devices and ASHA is Android exclusive. But outside of that you are pretty much screwed. LE Audio and the LC3 codec are here (since several years ago) to fix that but adoption it’s being very slow.
For what I’ve read the distro in which Steam OS is based has already BT LE audio and the LC3 codec support built in but it is up to Valve to implement it at a OS level. One can dream :)
- Comment on What do you prefer for audio? Earphones, headphones, speakers? 4 days ago:
Headphones because I use hearing aids and thus o can’t use earbuds at the same time. Speakers if there is no one around and/or I’m just tired of headphones.
Hopefully the Steam Deck will include Bluetooth LE audio and LC3 codec some day and then I will be able to stream directly into my hearing aids :)

- Comment on [Game] Helldivers 2 Gets New Steam Deck Graphics Preset Alongside New Difficulty Level 2 months ago:
Oh, didn’t know, it’s pretty cool, the few “optimized” games I’ve played didn’t have it, so I assumed that this was first.
- Comment on [Game] Helldivers 2 Gets New Steam Deck Graphics Preset Alongside New Difficulty Level 2 months ago:
Is “Steam Deck” a preset in the graphic settings selector? If so it is pretty cool, I’ve seen many games claim “optimized for settings “ but unless there is a preset is up to the user to fiddle until it get the optimal settings. This is a cool idea, haven’t seen it before.

Yes, sorry, I forgot to put the quotes on official.

What’s the point of an official Deck controller if it doesn’t have touchpads?

Thanks, the last one looks very handy for me.
- Comment on I used to be a frame rate snob but owning a Steam Deck has made me realise the error of my ways 6 months ago:
I still love my high frame rates, but playing with a controller is much more forgiving in that regard and i mostly play games with no camera controls on the Deck so it is perfectly fine.
- Comment on [Discussion] New month, new games. What are you playing on your Deck? - February 2024 8 months ago:
Hardcore Mecha. More fun than I imagined it would be (and I had high expectations).
- Comment on is there an alternative to joy con for steam deck? (or pc in general) 8 months ago:
I’ve had terrible experiences with anything Nintendo on PC or Deck. Have you tried any third party joy cons? Something like the hori split pad pro or similar.
- Comment on MSI Launches Claw A1M Handheld Gaming Device With Core Ultra 7 CPU, Starts At $699 8 months ago:
The thing that the Deck does better than any other handheld is having both sticks, d-pad and buttons aligned in a row, that makes any combination of them comfortable to use, weird that nobody copies that.
- Comment on [Discussion] What are you're thoughts on a Steamdeck with a PSP Go form factor? 8 months ago:
The thing I love the most about the Deck is having full size controllers on a handheld device, something that neither the Vita, PSP or Switch couldn’t gave me. So, for me, this idea won’t work.

It’s supposedly arriving today according to the tracking number.

Ah, so this is why zombies were festing on me in Resident Evil Remastered. It makes sense now xD
- Comment on What are the games featured in the Steam Deck OLED video? 10 months ago:
I can only identify the second one which is Persona 5. I also interested in knowing as I thought the first one was Lovely Planet and it clearly is not.

That makes the two of us. I was 15 minutes stuck in the address confirmation. Happily it suddenly went to the payment page and then to checkout. Let’s hope it doesn’t get misplaced in another country during transit for two weeks like the original Deck did.

This is nice. I don’t care about end game and only want to play the campaign so I’ll wait until it drops to €20 to get it.

All of those AAA and I’m here playing Suikoden 2…

A larger and better screen and overall better buttons is the only I need.

I love them not because stories like this but because they are the only ones I know that publish games reviews almost on a daily basis, which is the only thing I want from a videogames news outlets.

I look at my Deck huge black bezels and daydream about the day they bring a 8-8.5 oled screen with no bezels.
- Comment on What are some good games to play while absolutely baked? 1 year ago:
I play indies or roguelikes for this. It’s the most similar to old arcade cabinets experience from back in the day: you play a match, 15-30 minutes top, if you feel like it, rinse and repeat, otherwise not a big deal.
I’m currently playing Hades. Dead Cells is even better.
- Comment on The steam deck feels very heavy 1 year ago:
It felt heavy for me because I was used to the Switch. Since I haven’t used the Switch (actually sold it 6 months ago) it feels normal now.
What doesn’t felt right then nor now is the straight shape of the handles and I think that this might be confused with heaviness because it is what makes your arms feel tired. Every other modern controller in the market has handles that are pointed outwards which follows the shape of your shoulders in relation to the forearms when holding the Deck (unless you have really small body like children do). I hope they review the general ergonomic of the device in the next iteration.
- Comment on Probably the worst Deck 2 design I've seen 1 year ago:
Understandable. If you are into industrial design, architecture or just general design is a good place for inspiration.
- Comment on Probably the worst Deck 2 design I've seen 1 year ago:
That’s probably the least disgusting feature of them all, kinda looking forward for a monitor with rounded corners even though I know the problems that it will carry. The inverted shape of the handles though…

There is normally very good stuff at Yanko Design. There is stuff like this sometimes though.
- Comment on Hades on Steam Deck is a blast 1 year ago:
I on the other hand find it better on my ultrawide monitor (Hephaistos uw fix is marvelous). On the Deck I go docked on the TV since the Deck screen is a little too small and make the combat a little too cramped for my old ass eyes.
