Looks like you’re right, last summer reddit and Google made a $60 million deal to allow Google Search to continue crawling new posts, but they’re the only search engine with access to new posts thus far
- Comment on Reddit hints at expanded AI-powered search 3 weeks ago:
While I agree it sucks, AI might be the only way to fix the dogshit dumpster fire that is reddit search. And now that reddit stopped Google from web scraping new posts it might soon be the only way to find recent information that way.

I can’t believe they actually made a Hello Kitty Island Adventure game after all

- Comment on Valve is looking to add an optional battery charge limit to the SD, to preserve battery life 1 month ago:
Nice o didn’t know power tools has this, I will configure that when I get home today. I often leave my deck plugged in and forget about it and charging the battery to 100% is no bueno
- Comment on Might as well get a laptop??? 1 month ago:
Yeah if they could find a way to shave even 30-50 grams that would make a big difference
- Comment on Well that was fast, refurbished OLED Decks are now available on Steam 2 months ago:
Wow they’re only $99 too, that’s actually pretty reasonable. Good to know if/when my OLED panel ever wears out!

You can still shell swap or vinyl wrap your OLED, replace joysticks and buttons, etc. It’s cooler to customize it in that way imo
- Comment on [Discussion] What games are you playing on your deck? - November 2024 3 months ago:
I’ve played 60 hrs of Vampire Survivors in the last year since I got my SD OLED. Had the game platinumed before the latest DLC release. Just a ton of fun

How are you playing DS1 at 60+ fps on your steam deck? I thought the game was limited to 60

FWIW I have no issues with my dbrand skin on my Steam Deck OLED. Though I spent hours to get a near perfect application and I repasted its APU with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut.

Awesome! Will try loading Reshadeck on my SD OLED later!

It’s news because people have been speculating about the reason for his ban for 4 years, and now people inside at Twitch came forward and corroborated that Dr Disrespect was indeed banned for sexting with minors using Twitch chat

Am I correct in my understanding that they are nerfing dual-wielding and buffing one-handing great swords and other strength weapons? If so, those will be welcome changes. The dual-wielding one-hit strategy has always struck me as not very fun.
- Comment on Most played games on Steam Deck for May 2024 - Hades II tops the list 8 months ago:
I bought Vampire Survivors two weeks ago and I have almost 40 hours, all on Steam Deck. It’s the most fun I’ve had gaming in a long time. Simple gameplay loop with constant action and so many possible permutations of characters, stages, and power ups! I have ~ 2/3 of the unlocks and achievements so far.
- Comment on Do you still use your Steam Deck much? 9 months ago:
I really wanted to get a steam deck when they first came out, but I decided not to bc I wasn’t gaming much at the time. Then I got a SD OLED right when they came out, and I’ve been playing it pretty much every day since then. I love playing retro games and emulating on it since its OLED screen is amazing, and I also do Steam Remote Play to it from my gaming PC and Chiaki to remote play from my PS5. Like another poster said, the Steam Deck has also been a game changer for getting me playing older games from my backlog. It’s perfect for playing games on the couch while watching TV or a movie as well.
- Comment on Valve has little to worry about as new Steam Deck rival arrives 9 months ago:
I’m following Bazzite’s development closely because I feel like that’ll be the saving grace for all the gaming handhelds that are windows-only at the moment. If Bazzite matches or supplants SteamOS then I might consider a device like an ROG Ally.

Nice - are you playing with Mods?
- Comment on I modded my Steam Deck OLED! 9 months ago:
Thanks! My samsung S21’s phone really struggles to focus on anything remotely close to its lens, even if I manually adjust it in Pro mode. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
- Comment on I modded my Steam Deck OLED! 9 months ago:
Thanks! I am super stoked with how it turned out. It took me about 4 hours, but a decent chunk of that was me using a utility knife cracking open the one touchpad for which I was trying to swap its cover before I realized it wasn’t compatible. I suppose I could’ve swapped their covers and adhered the replacements to the metal brackets, but I also could not get the touchpad daughterboards out of the housing (they are likely adhered to the other piece too).
These are the resources I referenced while working on it:

I saw it pre-release in the theaters and didn’t take a bathroom break either, but I also planned ahead and didn’t drink any fluids for a few hours beforehand
- Comment on Saw Killers of the Flower Moon last night, and it's haunting 1 year ago:
It’s a Scorsese movie so of course everything about it was expertly done. I especially enjoyed the physicality Leo brought to his role which I haven’t seen him do before, Lily Gladstone definitely stole the show and I hope she gets the Oscar for her performance. I thought the radio drama ending felt a little out of place, however, and I could’ve used an intermission tbh
