This may overlap a lot with the discussion on what people are buying during the Steam sale discussion, but here it is anyways.
Tunic. This game is beautiful and sessions on a full battery can last a while without charging. Highly recommend.

This game evoked a feeling of wonder and discovery that I’ve rarely felt since childhood
The Witcher 3 two DLCs, now that I finished the base game.
You are up for a treat. This game if phenomenal
Yes, became my absolute favorite game :)
Hell yeah! Both DLC are so cheap on GOG during black Friday .
Yeah, even the bundle of the base game together with both dlc is a steal.
I broke down and bought Baldur’s Gate 3. I really tried to like it, but I did not.
So now I bought Horizon: Forbidden West, but the Deck can’t play it, so I’m playing that on my desktop.
with the latest 1.5 patch you can easily reach 60fps during normal gameplay (all low settings, FSR3 frame gen enabled). you can even reach 90fps incertain cases. its honestly impressive what they were able to squeeze out of the steamdeck.

I’m sure your desktop plays it better, but it should now work on the Deck despite the unverified status (this is the case more often than not).
Whaaaaat?? Friend you just made my night! Thank you!
Playing Pentiment right now
Is it good, it’s been on my wishlist for quite some time waiting for a bigger discount.
yeah, I’m in the last 1/3 of the game and it’s been really good. Getting used to the medieval script in dialogue bubbles took some time, but it’s definitely worth it.
Currently Metal Gear Rising.
This one is such a banger. Look up guides on how to parry consistently if the game didn’t explain it well enough. It’s crucial to the enjoyment of the game, yet it is explained oh so poorly.
Monster Hunter: World + Iceborne was on sale so I snagged it and I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit. Runs just fine on the deck and even though the game is clearly intended for multiplayer it works totally fine as a solo game.
The main issue I had with the game is that there’s no pause button (as mentioned, it’s a game oriented towards multiplayer) which isn’t really compatible with my current life but with Decky Loader and the Pause Game plugin installed I can easily pause the game mid-quest without worrying about failing the time limit.
Mad Max, snatched it for 2 bucks during the sale. Pretty good and chill game and well worth its price.
Whoa. It runs on deck? I just finished it on desktop. Completionist wise it was such a burden and I wish it didn’t have any achievements. Hopefully your sand trip is awesome!
It runs beautifully.
I spend hours setting up mods for games I’ve never played before so I can play the “best” version of it just to either get it working and play for a hell of a lot less time than I spent setting it up or giving up and going back to one of my comfort games.
Bluey: The Videogame. Worked past the resolution issues, the control issues, and now it is great fun with the 4 year old.
One of the games I picked up on Steam Sale was Cobalt Core. Fantastic game, it ate my entire Thanksgiving break lol
Mouthwashing, which I should finish tonight, Selaco - this one required a bit of tweaking but can mostly hold 60 now - and Balatro.
My most played games continue to be Stardew Valley, Brawlhalla, Superflight, Just Cause 3, and Puyo Puyo Tetris.
Nearly done with Metaphor ReFantizio, and also playing some Astalibra and FEAR.
I recently found out that FEAR won’t run well on modern windows PCs, and installed it on my Deck to see if it ran better on linux. Turns out it runs fantastically, with the Deck able to outperform any windows machine. I intended to only test performance, but FEAR is one of my favorite shooters of all time and I quickly got suckered back in. So I guess I’m going to do a full playthrough now.
Fallout New Vegas with Viva Las Vegas. Plays great.
I bought Against the Storm a few weeks ago and that has taken most of my gaming time. Just bought Hogwarts Legacy from the sale, I’ll probably fire that up sometime soon.
How do you deal with the janky text? I found it hard to learn the game with it all so aliased.
For which game? I haven’t played Hogwarts yet but I just scaled up the UI for Against the Storm and have no issues reading the text.
I’ve just 100%ed Super Mining Mechs
I got Fields of Mistria during the sale. It’s very similar to Stardew Valley, which I also enjoyed.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderland, Rocket League, Silent Hill 2
Still playing Helldivers 2 since I got it. Fun game that
Thanks for the suggestion of helldivers, I got in enough training on bots and droids just before the illuminate showed up. Had a blast mowing them down with my machine gun and orbital laser!
Super Earth thanks you for your service, Helldiver!
Hopefully, they are back soon. Had a blast getting mowed down by the harvester lasers from outta nowhere and learning how to fight something completely foreign
I’m tempted, how is it in the deck
I play level 8 without any real issues. It has a deck preset for graphics now. It definitely isn’t a stable 30 but it is in now way unplayable. I routinely walk away with a death or two plus about 550 kills vs both bots and bugs.
It ain’t the prettiest game especially when played on a TV but I’ve been gaming for 30 years and it doesn’t bother me anymore if a game isn’t the sleekest looking. That said, if you only play handheld, it still looks pretty remarkable. And I have no issue using a controller since it was built for PS5
Space Marine 1, A Good Snowman is Hard to Build, Slay the Spire, Cross Code, and Droplitz.
Half life 2, forza 4, tloz links awakening and vampire survivors.
Palworld when I want to focus a little bit
BG3 when I want to focus a lot bit
Balatro when I want to focus none bit
Started rim world again after a year break.
Castlevania Dominus Collection. I don’t know how I ever beat the games way back when, now I have to rewind during boss fights a lot. Got bored with Dawn of Sorrow as it went to the True Ending back stretch, really enjoying Portrait of Ruin. Johnathan’s mobility combined with Charlotte’s “fuck you and everyone around you” make such a great team.
Guild Wars 2 for most of the time lately. That and Fallout 4 and done Torchlight 2.
Been replaying Watch_Dogs recently. Works surprisingly well. Probably going to play Gestalt next.
Unrailed 2
Still playing bg3

After finally upgrading to a 1TB ssd yesterday, I can finally splurge on some bigger games.
So right now I’m mostly playing vampire survivors

I get what you’re saying, but the sentence order definitely sounds like you needed to upgrade to 1TB of storage in order to play bigger games like Vampire Survivors.

it was a little bit intended as the joke (although a true one)
